Johnny Grandison, Jr.

Location:  Savannah, GA

Background:
Johnny Grandison, Jr. is from Mobile, Alabama.  He received his BS from Florida A&M University in Civil Engineering in 1995.  He serves as a Project Manager and has about 19 years of Federal Service.  Johnny was initially introduced to the concept of natural remedies in 1999 when a group of friends shared with him the notion that medications typically try to emulate some element already found in nature.  He observed that utilizing natural products finally provided him relief from his long-term, chronic inflammatory condition that the prescription drugs he’d been prescribed weren’t able to.  This opened up his paradigm.  In 2005, when his wife, Beverly, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, the couple was introduced to the concept of Whole Food Nutrition. Johnny thought it was interesting that the doctors told them that the drugs they wanted to prescribe her had only a 50/50 chance that they might work, but that his neighbors conveyed with conviction that the disease could be overcome with consistent, ample consumption of a variety of fruits and vegetables and a change from poor food choices.  That decision to pursue a diet of a plant-based, whole foods has changed the course of their lives forever.  Johnny and Beverly have both been symptom free without the use of medications ever since.  Today, Johnny and is his wife have made it part of their life’s mission to share their stories and help educate people on the power of whole foods and how they too can live a healthier, premier quality of life.

Reason for becoming a Certified Food Over Medicine Instructor:
My reason for becoming a certified FOM Instructor was to strengthen my health/nutrition foundation; enhancing my understanding and awareness of the power of whole foods vs the mis-education rendered by the medical industry inferring that it is drugs that improve long-term situations and outcomes.  I believed the course would allow me to better disseminate sound, researched based information to individuals and groups of people/clients whom I’m assisting in creating a healthier lifestyle for them and their family.
