Background:
Originally from Oklahoma, I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a Chemical Engineering degree. After graduation I began working for Procter & Gamble at a paper manufacturing plant in southern California and then relocated to Cincinnati six years later. I enjoy various outdoor activities like cycling, mountain biking, running, and camping. I am a continual learner. I enjoy studying Spanish, with a goal to become fluent and explore various Hispanic and Latin countries. I also enjoy advancing my technical skills in KNIME, an open source data analytics programming toolkit.
Reason for becoming a Certified Food Over Medicine Instructor:
After discovering the books, The China Study and How to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, it was difficult to watch my family members suffer from preventable and reversible chronic illnesses. I began practicing a vegan diet as a way to influence them to simply eat more vegetables. And after trying to teach them ‘how’, I realized that a person requires a deep personal motivation to change their own habits and overcome the overwhelming poor education and marketing influence that has been engrained in them. I want to help people who are seeking truth about nutrition and wellness and are ready to create a new lifestyle that enables them to achieve their life’s goals. The FOM program provides the right tools and guidance and I’m so excited to be a FOM instructor and coach.
