Background:
Kellie worked for many years as a workplace investigator and human resources employment relationship specialist.  The investigation experience taught her to question everything; be sure you have a complete set of facts on which to base your decisions. She has always had a keen interest in health and wellness and just like she tackled her work investigations, she questioned health and nutrition information in the same way.  She has studied nutrition for many years, first; by obtaining he sports nutrition certifications.  She soon noticed that most treatments were being done through either prescription drugs or vitamins and supplements.  When Kellie got ill herself and her doctor kept prescribing more and more drugs to deal with the symptoms, she realized this was not the road she wanted to be on and she did more deep, serious research.  She began to realize that G.P.’s knew very little, if anything about nutrition and actually “healing” the body.  In her search, she came across several plant-based whole food studies and took an interest in what that was about.  She has subsequently taken on-line course work through Dr. Popper as well as through Dr. Esselstyn, and partnered with others in her community to build a plant-based whole foods community.  She continues to educate herself on healing the body through food.  Kellie has a degree in adult education and many certificates and diplomas related to investigations work along with nutrition and health. She believes strongly in continual learning so we can improve our lives and she is passionate about helping others find out about how they can control their health.

Reason for becoming a Certified Food Over Medicine Instructor:

Kellieis currently 68 years of age, takes no medications, and is in excellent health so she knows the about the power of good nutrition. As a result of turning her health around, she has developed a burning desire to help others learn the truth about how the Standard American Diet is killing them. She wants to help others realize that diets will not be the answer, nor will prescription medications and more vitamins and health store supplements – they may treat some symptoms – but not cause of disease.  If people truly want to get well, we need to be there for them to guide them and point them in the right direction so they can obtain the health and healing they deserve. We also have to teach them that doctors do not know everything; so let’s teach them how to ask the right questions of their physicians and do proper research.
